I would love to have one of these as a project. Not sure if $3500 is worth it, especially since these were pretty much neutered after 1971.If I were to buy it, I’d make it a ‘71 ‘Cuda clone.

Not that I have the finances, but worth it?

I’d say yes, and I’d keep it a ‘73. Nobody says you have to stay stock.

Resto-mod? Sure!
Full resto and sell, I think its a tight budget as they can be had for $30k.

They were neutered from the factory but that doesn’t mean that you can’t give it its balls back. Even in 1973 nobody kept them stock. That one looks like a lot of welding is in its future, though.

That looks very sharp. Though, I am quite fond of the cheese grater grille of the ‘71.

I’m sure they can. I wouldn’t sell it either way though.

Well, I need an excuse to learn welding. I haven’t done any welding since I did spot welding 10 years ago in high school.

If you have the desire, the room, and the money then I think it would make a pretty good project car. Just keep in mind that the desire part will inevitably ebb and flow over the time frame a project like that will take.

Believe me, I know. My stepdad has a 1971 Dodge Challenger convertible in his garage that needs restored. And getting work done on that is rare enough. I just don’t have the room myself. No garage, not much parking, and no money.

Heck no!
But I always look at what they could be worth for an acceptable base cost. $3000 for a shell seems a little high, but seeing as a restore can go for 30-60... it might be OK.
